If your Can-Am is displaying a "CHECK DPS" warning, losing power assist mid-ride, or blowing the 40-amp fuse the moment you plug the steering module back in, the problem is almost always failed components inside the DPS circuit board. Dealer replacements run $500 or more and ship with the same failure-prone parts that caused the original breakdown.
Our repair service strips the module down to the component level and replaces every weak part with upgraded replacements rated above original specifications. The result is a unit that performs like new and is built to outlast the factory original.
Symptoms We Repair
- CHECK DPS warning on the dash display
- Jerky, pulsing, or notchy steering during turns or at low speed
- 40-amp fuse blows when the DPS unit is connected
- Stiff or heavy steering with diagnostic codes P1F00 or P0562
- Complete loss of power assist after an impact or hard hit to the front wheels
These symptoms are common after accidents, hard impacts to the front wheels, or simply from age and heat cycling over time. If your steering feels slightly stiff at times with no warning message on the display, that is considered normal DPS operation and does not indicate a module fault.

Why Repair Instead of Replace?
New DPS modules from BRP use the same components that failed in yours. Spending $500 or more on a replacement built with identical parts does not solve the underlying problem. Our repair addresses the root cause by upgrading every failure-prone component with higher-rated replacements that are designed to last.
Once repaired, your original module ships back ready to install. No dealer visit, no VIN pairing, and no steering calibration needed in most cases. Plug it back in, clear any stored codes, and you are back on the trail.
Important: What to Ship
Send only the electronic DPS module, not the full gearbox or steering assembly. Refer to the product images to see which part to remove and which part to keep. A $20 surcharge applies if the gear portion is included and must be separated before repair can begin.
Warranty Information
This DPS module repair service includes a 1-year warranty. Coverage includes steering assist failure, fuse blowing, and DPS-related electrical faults caused by the original component failure. For the first 3 months after your repair is returned, we cover warranty shipping both ways. After 3 months, the customer covers shipping to us for warranty service. The warranty is non-transferable and is tracked by a unique warranty number assigned to your repair.
